Core features in FreeNest 1.4
The dashboard is your project's personal landing page that gives you all necessary information about the status of your project with first glance.
The dashboard is customizable by the administrative user, so you can show the essential information about each different project in an optimal way. You can also expand the dashboard with your own widgets to allow for custom reports at first glance.
FreeNest's top bar is always present wherever you move inside the system, allowing you quick access to all the different tools for your project.
The FreeNest control panel hosts the configuration options and files of all significant FreeNest tools.
From the control panel you can easily administer your FreeNest instance from a single point. No need to look any further for settings that need to be changed. The Control panel is also extensible, allowing components to add their configurations to the list easily.
FreeNest tools are all under single sign-on, and the sign-on system is easily extended to allow your custom authentication solutions.
FreeNest's authentication is based on the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). Any web-based tool that supports HTTP-basic authentication can be integrated to FreeNest's SSO.
FreeNest includes a context-sensitive linker that automatically generates backlinks to your wiki topics.
Write a CamelCase-formatted keyword anywhere inside FreeNest, and a link back to the corresponding wiki page is automatically created. You can handily cross-reference documentation with any of your tools, bug reports or task definitions. The Context-sensitive linking extends anywhere the FreeNest top bar is present. The library also allows for developers to design their own keywords and destination tools.
FreeNest has been designed for secure working. Every page inside the system is secured with SSL-layer browsing.
By default FreeNest generates a self-signed cerificate, but you can also upload your own organization's certificates.
